ABOUT CYCLE CITY INC. - ESCANABA, MI

Cycle City Inc was started in a former Escanaba ice cream stand back in 1968 by Robert (Bob) Malmsten. Bob (also know as Honda Bob) already had experience working for his father (Marvin Malmsten) at their Honda Motorcycle dealership in Menominee Michigan. In the beginning, when Bob first decided to branch out on his own, motorcycles and parts were hauled from the Menominee store daily. Store hours were noon to 6pm all summer long. The ice cream stand was expanded several times over the years. It truly became a family business with Bob's wife Lu working at the dealership in different capacities and sons Brian and Eric rode the bus as kids to Cycle City after school working in every department of the store starting from a very young age. Cycle City acquired the Arctic Cat franchise is 1993. That original location was bursting at the seams when a fire in 2009 forced a move and Cycle City ended up at the new larger location between Escanaba and Gladstone on the corner of County Road 426 and US41. Around that same time, Zambon's sales, the only other new motorcycle shop in town closed it's doors and in 2010 Cycle City got the franchise for Yamaha Motorcycles, ATVs, Snomobiles and Power Products. After 50 years running Cycle City, Bob handed over the reins to sons Brian and Eric in February 2018. Cycle City continues to grow by stocking loads of the latest new products and adding more employees to exceed customer expectations.
