The Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing 250 Team heads into 2026 with a powerhouse lineup
ready to chase more titles in the SuperMotocross World Championship and at the Amateur
Nationals. Returning for 2026 is Michael Mosiman, Nate Thrasher, Cole Davies, Max Anstie,
Pierce Brown, Kayden Minear, Caden Dudney and Carson Wood. Joining the team’s
championship winning program is top-up-and-coming amateur rider Landen Gordon.
Founded in 1999 by entrepreneur Bobby Reagan, Star Racing built a reputation as one of the
top privateer teams in the sport of Supercross and Motocross. In 2005, that reputation ultimately
secured the support of Factory Yamaha. Together with Yamaha’s superior YZ250F, Star Racing
is one of the most sought-after teams for the sport’s top up-and-coming riders. The team has a
history of success, claiming 19 support class titles in the professional ranks, including nine
Monster Energy AMA Supercross 250 divisional championships, a WMX title and seven 250MX
Championships in Pro Motocross, and back-to-back 250SMX titles.
In 2014 and 2015, Jeremy Martin earned back-to-back AMA 250MX Championships. The
team’s success continued with Cooper Webb, who took home back-to-back Monster Energy
Supercross 250SX West titles for the team in 2015 and 2016, as well as the 2016 250MX
Championship. Aaron Plessinger had a standout season in 2018 as the Ohio native won the
250SX West Championship and the AMA 250MX Championship. Dylan Ferrandis carried on
that winning momentum and took home back-to-back 250SX West Championships in 2019 and
2020, and was also crowned the 2020 250MX AMA Pro Motocross Champion.
In 2021, the Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing squad became the first team in nearly a
decade to claim both 250 class titles in Monster Energy AMA Supercross, with Justin Cooper
taking the 250SX West Championship and Colt Nichols the 250SX East Championship. The
following year, Christian Craig kept the team’s title streak rolling by securing the 2022 250SX
West Championship at the season finale in Salt Lake City, Utah.
2023 marked the arrival of Haiden Deegan to the pro ranks, and the 17-year-old rookie enjoyed
success from the start, securing the 250SMX title in a thrilling final round at the Los Angeles
Memorial Coliseum. In 2024, Deegan’s meteoric rise continued its upward trend with a stellar
sophomore season. After earning a runner-up finish in the 250SX East Championship, he went
on to secure the Pro Motocross 250MX Championship a weekend early. In the postseason, he
continued to set the bar for the competition, winning five out of six motos en route to claiming
his second-consecutive 250SMX Championship.
In 2025, Deegan’s reign continued as he earned his first Monster Energy AMA Supercross title
in the 250SX West Championship and went on to secure back-to-back 250MX Championships.
His teammate Cole Davies also showed strength as a title contender in the Western Divisional
250 class and earned 250SX Rookie of the Year honors for his standout performance. On the
amateur team, Kayden Minear took home top honors in SMX Next at the SuperMotorcross
World Championship Playoffs. With multiple riders back to full fitness and reenergized for the
2026 season, the team looks to continue its top form in 2026 and add more number one plates
to it’s already extensive collection.

Michael Mosiman returns in 2026 for his second full season with the team. The Californian has shown the pace to run up front and has a 250SX win to his resume, standing on top of the box at the 2022 San Diego Supercross. In 2024, he made his racing debut with Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing at Seattle Supercross and was able to get some gate drops before unfortunately being sidelined with an injury.
Mosiman had a strong 2025 season, returning to the podium in Monster Energy AMA Supercross at Arlington Supercross and finishing the season seventh in the 250SX West Championship. After a couple of seasons away, the Californian also had a solid return to the Pro Motocross Championship, making steady improvements and enjoying an overall podium finish at the RedBud National. Unfortunately, he injured his ankle at the following round and ultimately was sidelined for the remaining rounds of the SuperMotocross World Championship. Back to full fitness, Mosiman looks to build off his momentum from the 2025 season and battle for top honors in 2026.
Nate Thrasher returns for his sixth season with the team and is eager to make a title run in 2026. He joined Monster Energy Star Yamaha Racing in the Fall of 2020 and raced the final two rounds of the Pro Motocross 250MX Championship. The Tennessee rider made his Monster Energy AMA Supercross debut in 2021 and turned a lot of heads by scoring two convincing 250SX wins on a very physically demanding track at the Atlanta Motor Speedway tripleheader. He ultimately ended the season seventh in the points standings.
2022 was a building year for Thrasher as he continued to make forward progress. He ended the Supercross season on a high note, winning the East-West Showdown at the final round in Salt Lake City, Utah, securing a top-five finish in the 250SX West points standings.
Despite a tough start to the 2023 Monster Energy AMA Supercross season, Thrasher was a title contender. He returned to the top step of the podium at the Arlington Supercross and notched a total of four podiums before a big crash at the Atlanta Supercross sidelined him for the rest of the season. Unfortunately, 2024 was another tough year with injuries, but once again, Thrasher showed speed and scored his fifth-career 250SX win at the San Diego Supercross.
In 2025, Thrasher returned to the top step of the podium, bringing his career 250SX win tally to six at the Birmingham Supercross. He would go on to finish the season fourth overall in the 250SX East Standings with his win and two additional trips to the podium. In Pro Motocross, Thrasher continued to make forward progress during his first full season outdoors, earning his best overall result of the season with a top-five finish at the final round at Budds Creek MX. He then had a strong showing in the SMX postseason, earning a podium finish at the second playoff round and finishing fourth overall in 250SMX.
After an impressive debut season in the pro ranks, Cole Davies returns in 2026 for his second full season with the team. The young New Zealand rider made his U.S. debut in 2023 and turned a lot of heads in 2024. He won the opening qualifying round of Supercross Futures at Anaheim 2 and secured his second 250SX Futures victory at the championship-deciding round in Salt Lake City. The 2024 Supercross Futures AMA National Champion made his debut with Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing at the Scouting Moto Combine at RedBud. He went on to finish the season in style, taking the final Scouting Moto Combine overall win at Ironman Raceway and scoring a commanding 250 World All-Stars victory at the SMX World Championship Finals in Las Vegas.
2025 was a standout rookie season for Davies. Despite missing the final round due to injury, he finished third in the 250SX West Championship, earning two wins and making a total of four trips to the podium. For his outstanding achievements, he was also named the 250SX Rookie of the Year. Although he missed most of the outdoor season due to his injury at the Salt Lake City Supercross season finale, Davies showed speed outdoors and was credited with his first moto victory at the Pro Motocross season finale at Budds Creek. Back to full fitness, Davies looks to battle for the crown in 2026.
Max Anstie also returns in 2026. The British rider brings with him a wealth of experience and has enjoyed success in multiple championships overseas and has been a title contender in the 250SX East Championship, earning three career victories in the class thus far.
He made his pro debut in Monster Energy AMA Supercross with the team in 2010 and reunited with Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing for the latter half of the 2024 SuperMotocross World Championship. In 2025, Anstie came out swinging, winning the 250SX East opener in Tampa and scoring a runner-up finish at Round 2. Unfortunately, he was later sidelined for most of the season after a crash at Birmingham Supercross. Back to full fitness, Anstie has enjoyed a successful off-season overseas, earning his second SX2 World Supercross title and looks to carry that momentum into the 2026 SuperMotocross World Championship.
Eager to make his title run in the SuperMotocross World Championship, Pierce Brown returns with the team in 2026. The talented rider from Sandy, Utah, has shown speed in the 250 class and earned his first 250SMX victory at the 2024 SMX Finals in Las Vegas. He joined Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing for the 2025 season but was unfortunately injured at the 250SX East opening round in Tampa and ultimately sidelined for most of the year. Back to 100%, Brown is eager to battle for the crown in his first full season with the team.
Caden Dudney joined the team in the fall of 2024. One of the sport’s top up-and-coming riders, he has six AMA Amateur National Motocross Championships to his resume. In 2024, he enjoyed a successful outing at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch, winning five of his six motos to earn the number one plate in the 250 B and Schoolboy 2 Championships. In addition to the pair of titles, he also won the Oakley Award for setting the fastest lap time during the week of racing at Loretta Lynn’s and was named the Amateur Rider of the Year.
2025 was a rollercoaster season for Dudney, who was injured at Daytona Supercross and sidelined for much of his debut season with the team. The young rider from Iowa was back to top form for the final round of the SMX Next Scouting Moto Combine, winning the first moto and securing a top-five overall finish at Ironman Raceway. Dudney then raced the final two rounds of the Pro Motocross season, earning an impressive 11th-place overall finish in his pro debut at Unadilla MX. In the SMX postseason, he earned a top-five overall finish in the SMX Next World All-Stars and looks to battle for top honors in 2026 as he returns for his second season with the team.
Another one of the sport’s top up-and-coming riders, Kayden Minear, joined the team for the 2025 season. With an already impressive resume back home – including multiple Australian amateur titles and being crowned the 2022 Australian ProMX MX3 Champion – Minear made an impressive U.S. debut at the final round of the Scouting Moto Combine in 2024. The 17-year-old came out swinging with a dominant first-moto victory at Ironman Raceway, ultimately finishing second overall.
Although injuries sidelined him for most of his first season with the team, the young Australian once again enjoyed success, topping the podium in the SMX Next Moto Scouting Combine with a dominant 1-1 result at Hangtown. He also got some seat time in the pro ranks, racing two rounds of Pro Motocross. Minear then came back from injury in the postseason and returned to the top of the podium, winning the SMX Next World All-Stars Championship in St. Louis with a 1-2 result. In 2026, Minear returns for his second year with the team, looking to add more titles and wins to his tally.
New to the team for 2026 is Landen Gordon. The talented young rider from California is eager to make his racing debut with the championship-winning program and looks to add more number-one plates to his collection. Gordon enjoyed a strong 2025 season in the SuperMotocross World Championship’s SMX Next class, earning a pair of Supercross wins – Glendale Supercross and Daytona Supercross – and an overall win outdoors at the SMX Next Scouting Moto Combine at the RedBud National.
Entering his second season with the team, Carson Wood is another one of the team’s rising stars. He finished his mini bike racing career with a standout performance at the 2024 Thor Mini O’s, winning seven out of eight motos and four titles. In addition to being crowned SMX Supermini World All-Star Champion in 2023, the young rider from Florida already has multiple AMA National titles to his resume, including a number one plate from the 2021 AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch.
In 2025, Wood showed impressive speed as he moved up to the 250B class. He made two trips to the podium in SMX Next, scoring a third-place finish in the first moto at the Scouting Moto Combine at Ironman Raceway and a runner-up finish at the World All-Stars Playoff 1 in St. Louis. With a full season under his belt, Wood looks to continue to build on his progress from 2025 and battle for top honors in 2026.
