All-New Yamaha Auto-Shift Technology
The enhanced six-speed transmission on the new YXZ1000R SS XT-R now also includes all-new Yamaha Auto-Shift Technology, providing the Pure Sport, direct-connection feeling to drivers who prefer automatic transmission, with the flexibility of switching to a manual gear selection for the ultimate direct-connection experience. Through a new dash-mounted dial, users can select between three transmission modes: “Auto", “Sport Auto" and “Sport Shift".
Enhanced Clutch Setup
The new YXZ1000R SS XT-R features a new clutch setup with an all-new hub with radiating fins, added oil-lubrication ports for maximized heat dissipation, and new YCC-S programming to provide increased clutch durability.
Enhanced Six-Speed Transmission
The industry’s only six-speed manual transmission, optimized for performance in bothhigh- and low-speed situations with updated gear ratios, including a 40% lower first gear. Increased clutch durability delivers greater confidence during operation, while simultaneously improving driver comfort at slower speeds.
Higher Electrical Output for Accessorization
To further tailor your YXZ1000R SS XT-R to REALize Your Adventure, the new YXZ features a higher electrical output, supporting more customization for accessories. The high-output ACM provides 1,000 watts of electricity, allowing for more accessories without horsepower loss. Additionally, four electrical ports are added—two toward the front and two in the rear—for easier and faster accessory installation.

The YXZ1000R SS XT-R stands out with a range of stylish, high-spec components. Advanced FOX® Dual Spring suspension, beadlock rims wrapped in Yamaha-exclusive Maxxis® Carnage™ tires, and enhanced underbody protection come standard. Upgraded centerline lighting provide enhanced visibility. A custom front grab bar mounts a heavy duty WARN® winch package with integrated driver controls while the composite suntop, high-quality painted bodywork, contrast-stitched seats, center-mount mirror and auxiliary lights complete the package.

High-Flow Intake & Exhaust
Any engine needs to inhale clean air and exhale as efficiently as possible. The YXZ’s high capacity intake system features dual air filters—one oiled foam, one viscous paper—for maximum airflow to the engine as well as durable filtration for the dirtiest riding environments. The three-into-one high-volume exhaust system centralizes weight distribution and is tuned to provide maximum power across the rev range.
Industry-First 998cc Three-Cylinder Engine
Designed to bring a Pure Sport riding character like nothing else in the Side-by-Side world, the YXZ engine was built to deliver high-revving power with the character only an inline triple can provide. With a compact, counterbalanced, DOHC cylinder head, a 11.3:1 compression ratio and dry-sump lubrication, the YXZ1000R SS XT-R offers exceptional power and durability.
New Six-Speed Sequential Transmission
With the new industry-exclusive six-speed Yamaha Auto Shift Technology, drivers can choose between three transmission modes through a new dash-mounted dial: AUTO—a fully automatic mode for more relaxed driving; SPORT AUTO—a more spirited, fully automatic mode that holds gears longer and shifts at higher RPMs; SPORT SHIFT—traditional manual sport shift offering drivers full control of shift-points through steering-column mounted paddle shifters. Additionally, a new 40% lower first gear improves low-speed performance, while the enhanced close-ratio gearing helps keep the engine in its optimal power band.
Powerful All-Wheel Disc Brakes
The YXZ1000R SS XT-R offers superior braking control thanks to twin-piston calipers clamping down on large 255mm rotors in the front and 245mm rotors in the rear for excellent braking power, feel and fade-resistance under hard use.

The YXZ1000R SS XT-R’s automotive style On-Command dial is intuitive and conveniently located on the center console.

On top of the stylish painted bodywork, contrast-stitched seats, and high-spec interior controls, the YXZ1000R SS XT-R features a center-mount rear view mirror and auxiliary lights throughout the cabin.
Composite Suntop
A strong, lightweight Composite Suntop keeps the cabin running cool and perfectly matches the YXZs bodylines. A wide-angle rearview mirror is also tucked under the roof for enhanced rearward visibility.
Ergonomics Built for Performance
The YXZ1000R SS XT-R cockpit provides a balance of comfort and control with both the driver’s seat and steering wheel adjustability to ensure the perfect fit. Optimized Cooling System
Drive hard and keep your cool. To ensure peak performance every ride, the YXZ1000R SS XT-R features a rear-mounted radiator. This system not only reduces heat in the cabin, but it remains clear of mud or debris build-up and is designed to funnel cool air through the radiator at low or high speeds equally well. Even with windshields equipped and a full cargo bed, the YXZ's intuitive design still allows for optimum airflow through strategically placed inlets and massive cooling fans.

Supersport-Style Dashboard
Dash instruments draw inspiration from Yamaha’s high-performance supersport motorcycles. Functions include a digital speedometer, analog tachometer, programmable shift light, and readouts for 4WD mode, gear position, fuel level, trip meters, hour meter, coolant temperature warning and a clock.
