Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Dylan Ferrandis overcame adversity to finish fourth overall with a 6-3 score at Round 4 of the Pro Motocross Championship in Mt. Morris, Pennsylvania. Riders were met with challenging conditions at the High Point Raceway, but the Frenchman once again charged to a podium finish in the second moto, coming just shy of another overall podium.

Ferrandis had another good qualifying effort in fourth despite the tricky track conditions. In the first moto, he found himself back in 21st after the first lap. Undeterred, he put his head down and made an impressive charge through the field to sixth. He got a much better start in Moto 2 and was battling in the top five. The opening laps were eventful, with Ferrandis advancing to third after a rider went down ahead, and then shortly after, had a tip over himself and rejoined in fifth.

The Frenchman threw down some consistently fast times and advanced to fourth on Lap 4. With around three minutes on the clock, he made the pass for third and closed the gap on second in the final moments of the race but ultimately ran out of time. His 6-3 score resulted in fourth overall, and he continues to hold down the runner-up position in the 450MX championship standings. He also made forward progress in the SuperMotocross World Championship, breaking the top 10 in the combined points despite being sidelined for most of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross season.

The Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing team gets a weekend break before heading to RedBud MX in Buchanan, Michigan, for Round 5 of the Pro Motocross Championship and the 22nd round of the SuperMotocross World Championship.

Jeremy Coker – Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing 450 Team Manager

“It was a good day overall. We had another really rutty and challenging track. It took a little bit to get the bike dialed in, but we got it by the second moto, and it showed Dylan still has what it takes. We’ve just got to do our job to make it better for him, and we’ll continue to do that.”

“In the first moto, I made a mistake in the first turn and lost pretty much every position. I was kind of dead last and had to come back through the field to finish sixth. In the second moto, I got a better start. We changed some stuff on the bike, and it was way better. I think we finally found something that I really like, so yeah, the feeling was great. It took me a little bit to understand the new setup, but then I got going pretty fast. So that was good. I finally had a good moto. I just had a little crash on Lap 2. I didn’t lose much time, but enough to maybe cost me the moto win or the overall podium today.”
