Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Dylan Ferrandis put in another strong ride to return to the podium with a pair of third-place finishes on a hot Saturday at The Wick 338 in Southwick, Massachusetts. The 2021 450MX Champion continues to strengthen his runner-up position in the championship, bringing his tally to 10 moto podiums and advancing to 23 points clear of third place in the standings

Ferrandis showed strength straight away on one of the toughest tracks on the calendar and qualified third. Although he didn’t get the start he was looking for in the first moto, he put his head down and quickly made his way into the top five. The Frenchman advanced to fourth a couple of laps later and then into third on the following lap, where he would ultimately finish. In Moto 2, Ferrandis came out swinging and grabbed the holeshot. He was passed by the series points leader on the opening lap and was running a strong pace in the punishing conditions, but ultimately was shuffled to third on Lap 5. Ferrandis rode on to finish a strong third and end the day third overall.

The Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing team starts making the trek back west to the Spring Creek MX Park in Millville, Minnesota, on July 15 for round seven of the Pro Motocross Championship and the 24th round of the SuperMotocross World Championship

Jeremy Coker – Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing 450 Team Manager

“Today was another step in the direction we need. I believe the bike is in a good enough spot now for Dylan to start working on himself. We will continue to help and push him in every way we can.

“The day was okay. In the first moto, I got a bad start, and I had to fight my way up to third, which wasn’t too bad. In the second moto, I got the holeshot, and I just tried to stay up front but got third again. I’m pretty tired. The heat got me a little bit, but I gave everything today. I pushed really hard earlier this week in training, so I think I need to rest up a bit during the week and show up a little more fresh at Millville.”
